SELF
EMPLOYMENT:
One
of the biggest problems in our region is that of Rural and Urban unemployment.
In
our rural/urban situation the problem of unemployment is becoming serious
day by day. There are landless farmers (workers) who work on the fields
of other people but this work is available for a very limited period.
As the continuous work is not available in the rural situation, most
of the people continue to be unemployed, which affects their economic
life very much.
EDCI
is planning different kinds of services like self-employment camps (informative),
self-employment training to start their small shop, trade etc. (in cooperation
with Government agencies and banks etc.) So that resources can be available
to such deserving persons to initiate their trade. Thus training's to
the unemployed about starting their self-employment is proving to be
very useful.
EDCI
has tailoring schools in which 200 women are trained every year for
one-year programme. Another training programme like handicrafts and
cloth painting skills are also provided. We have two Typing Schools
in the villages with 22 students in six months course. We have two schools
for motor rewinding, one electrical and one welding school in which
70 students are trained in batches.
