CHILD DEVELOPMENT:
Children are the most neglected group in our target area. There are hardly any facilities like schooling, health, and other facilities, by which these children will not have proper growth and development. Therefore it is one of the concerns of EDCI to provide the activities like Balwadis (Children school) health checkup and care, recreational and other developmental activities. Presently EDCI has 30 such Balwadis in different villages with 700 children. Health, recreational and other programs are facilitated for the village children. In our experience these activities are proving to be useful as the children at this tender age are prepared for further education and they also think about life in a positive way. Child labour is also one of the main concern. Creating awareness among the illiterate parents through meetings, discussion groups etc. is proving to be helpful, as parents understand the importance of education for their children.
