Objectives Of The Organization

EDCI from its very inception is committed to the development. Unfortunately even today the rural/Urban areas and people are neglected and thus the fruits of so called development have not yet reached these areas fully. Because of this the main objectives of EDCI is to create awareness and motivation among the rural masses, encouraging these to participate fully in their own development build up and develop their own organizations by which they can generate different kinds of activities and programs at the grassroots (village) base level to improve the conditions of their lives. All this is achieved by organizing different kinds of training programmes, seminars etc.

With this general objective in mind the following objectives will form the main thrust during this financing period.

  • Different kinds of training programmes, Seminars, discussion groups etc. is organized. To create awareness and motivation especially among the poor, powerless rural communities to take active interest/participate in solving their own socioeconomic problems / issues / difficulties etc.

  • To assist and support the rural communities to build up/form their own organizations by which they can overcome their problems cooperatively/collectively. To form and strengthen the organizations of youth, women, farmers, self-employment cooperatives, and others.

  • To expose these rural communities to the internal and external factors, which continue to keep them poor and powerless, and these communities can find out the ways and means to overcome these situations.

  • To encourage/support the people for their full participation in the processes of their own development (people's participation in development).

  • To organize special training programmes to encourage and development the leadership from among these communities.

  • To initiate concrete plan of action/activities/programs etc. on village and regional levels by which their life can be improved.

  • To motivate different Government agencies in the implementation of their plans/schemes/programs means to be for the poor in different aspects of rural life & so to establish just and humane socioeconomic order in the rural situations.

  • The other objectives is to work with the churches/congregations/lay people etc. and organize different training programmes, Seminars etc. so that they can also actively participate in the processes of Mission of the Church in establishing just, responsible, human community.

  • To work closely with government agencies and other NGOs in the process of National development.
